From the time most of us can remember, there has been this concept that is inherent in all of us. That concept is the want and need for popularity. I don’t care who you are or what your walk of life is, there is something that drives you to be popular in one way or the other. If you take a second to look at the world around us, you can see it everywhere and it’s disguised in so many ways. Social Networking, marketing, sales, networking groups, chambers of commerce. All of these things highlight our desire to be known, our success is supported at times by our popularity.
As I’m sitting in Yellow Wood Cafe in in the East bay (one of the best coffee houses I have been to), I am thinking to myself… what do I want to be popular in? Or who do I want to be popular with? Well here is me putting all my cards on the table. I want to be popular… I want to be known for helping others succeed as well as bringing companies together. I want to market myself by marketing everyone else! This thought has ignited a passion in me that has been dormant for years! This blog will be my journal, my story on achieving popularity by focusing first on others popularity. Once again, nothing new under the sun, but I can’t wait to see who is effected and how this might be able to encourage those that have been so jaded by the selfish populous that surrounds our daily lives.
How can I help you become popular?
Wow, you are very honest and right on. I think the desire to be popular is really the need we all have to love and be loved. If we are popular, then we feel loved and part of “the pack.” I’m sure it goes back to caveman survival. Anyhow, I couldn’t agree more with your mission. I love the quote..”You can have anything you want in the world, once you help enough people get what they want.” Good luck and I will be following the journal.
Jason – Thanks for the encouragement and I look forward to keeping in touch with you. For the past two weeks I have been putting this to the test. It’s amazing to me how many companies out there have not grabbed on to the idea that those that are successful will be those that listen and then provide direction that meets the needs of the customer. I to look forward to this journal and more feed back from people like you.
